Though i keep myself looking only at the pictures....

People really show thier true colors on the internet...and its shocking to see what people will comment attached to thier real names and pictures!

And they are absolutely right. Twitter is nothing full of nothing but political tribalists who will attack you for daring to have a different opinion. I tried to just follow artists but even they aren't immune to real life controversies. It bothers me to know end.

It can be a useful tool, but it comes with its share of perils. It's addicting, it's very easy to compare yourself to others (in a detrimental way), and I feel like one is a lot more vulnerable to getting dragged into weird arguments with strangers. It comes with the territory of being kind of a "free-for-all" app rather than something actually catered for sharing art.

I avoid social media entirely for precisely this reason. I'm enough of a misanthrope under normal circumstances, without Twitter feeds and Facebook posts giving me reason to think that outlook is justified.
